Maintain an editorially independent, broadcast which  allows diverse views without inhibitations and draws attention to marginalized groups including minorities.

Afford opportunities grassroots level communities to produce and present radio programs on any topic with a view to promote Participation, Development and Good Governance.

The radio should help the community in their efforts to fulfill unmet needs in different fields and sectors; should provide new knowledge and introduce new technologies in different fields including agriculture. Should help to find new markets for the produce of the community and to expand the present markets; should afford opportunities to share experiences amongst Gemidiriya villages and promote healthy competition; should provide for the instantaneous and simultaneous flow of information amongst villages; should stimulate and foster Socio-Cultural life of the community

It should be an independent communication medium of the community devoid of government, commercial or any other controls or influences; should provide access to the community to plan, produce and present programs; should guarantee freedom of expression without promulgating its own views.

The radio should reflect and promote local identity, character, and culture and heritage; should identify and foster diverse creative talents, skills and capabilities of local peoples

Give voice to minority and marginalized groups in the community; Should Promote harmony amongst diverse communal, racial and ethnic groups; Create a diversity of voices and opinions thus strengthening the democratic process; should afford opportunity to produce and present programs on any topic.

Provide for harmonious coexistence and social wellbeing; Promote good governance in order to maintain public services in a fair and just manner.
